Final Count – Over 110 Bras Collected!

Since our event on 9/2, we have experienced such an outpouring of love from close family and friends in the form of extra bras and monetary donations. We are so blessed that so many people believe in our vision. We collected 43 bras the evening of our Aloha to the Bra event; our count Friday night put at us 112 bras with the promise of more to come. We are so excited about shipping our bras to Free the Girls.

We truly respect this non-profit organization that provides job opportunities to women rescued from sex trafficking. 100% of public donations directly fund job creation projects. If you would like to learn more about Free the Girls, please visit them online at http://www.freethegirls.com. To donate to them directly, please use this link, http://www.freethegirls.com/donate.

Mission Complete – Aloha to the Bra was a Success!!

Image

We’ve been planning for months and to see everything come together, for our TWFR4 inaugural event – Aloha to the Bra, was so fulfilling. We ran around and worked late into the evening Saturday preparing for Sunday. The girls were on the job early Sunday; as I mentioned before I, Kendall, have a small issue with time (lol). Come 4 o’clock a few of our guests arrived and we jumped into action collecting bras, displaying food and welcoming our attendees.

We enjoyed refreshments for our mingling hour and then began our program with a quick introduction of the group purpose and members. If we haven’t explained clearly enough, here on our blog, TWFR4 is a group of young women that want to pay our many blessings forward. We have committed as friends to support several causes and this first event was to bring awareness to Human Trafficking, its victims, and its survivors. Alisha shared great information on Free the Girls, the organization we collected the bras for and turned it over to our guest speaker, Jennifer from Safe House.

Jennifer gave us statistics and painted a picture of those that have suffered at the hands of traffickers right here in the Inland Empire. We are happy to say that from the proceeds of our event we will be able to make a contribution to this worthy organization that fights for women just like us daily.

We are so excited for the turn out (mind you on a holiday weekend); this showed us just how much support we have. As ambitious as the undertaking of TWFR4 is, I believe that we can definitely accomplish our goal with upcoming events that we will be participating in and hosting ourselves.

With that, stay tuned for more work for more great causes and fun with your girls, TWFR4!
